Orange Shine

A Lament for the LivingGod~ Can you not lift my wing once more? To soar in the danger of storms to never feel the pain of old gunshot, sore. And to nest and raise younglings to warm?A Lament for the Living
Oh god, my creator of open, free skies, my blood is hot and feathers fall from me. I hear my poor nestlings, left behind. Their cries! They strike my heart as flint rock cliffs break my body.
God, let me dream of my home the cliffs, if I am not to ever see them, let me dream. I will then fel the updraft that lifts, and I will feel flight again, or so it shall seem.


Myr Chapter 5It hadn't even been mid-afternoon when they'd started off and Myr shook her head to refuse food and a gulp of water when Tabre shifted to take a break. He tried to draw her out, to get her to talk about what had happened, but gave up when she took the snack to avoid talking. The mountains were directly ahead and they curved off into the east and west, far enough away that Myr couldn't see the end of their curve. Tabre glanced back at the downcast Myr following him and smiled and pointed at a hairline crack in the mountains ahead. It was too far to make out what it was and Myr opened her mouthMyr Chapter 5

Broken Mirror
A shawl covered the cracked mirror. She couldn't bear to look into it. All she knew was that she was not a princess and this was no fairytale. She turned away, disillusioned. No one would ever love her. Inside her heart, fragile, delicate things broke and left sharp edges that dug into her. After awhile, her heart grew numb and she scarcely felt the pain anymore, but she wasn't happy either. And in the silence within her, tears fell endlessly.
